New to Prime Day? We have a primer on everything you need to know. Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.
Prime Day means you can shop for virtually anything Amazon sells, from tech gadgets to home gym equipment to projectors for a backyard movie night, and you’re likely to find a bargain. However, the best deals will always be on Amazon’s own tech products. Case in point: The company is selling all of its Fire TV Stick devices at big discounts.
My favorite thing about these little devices is that you can install software like Kodi, which lets you watch almost anything for free. The Fire TV OS also supports tons of apps and hides little-known secrets that can make your user experience much better. Also, if you’re an Xbox gamer, you only need to get an Xbox controller to play their games over the cloud via the Xbox app. Pretty sweet.
Fire TV Stick 4K Max Prime Day Deal
Original price: $59.99 | Current price: $34.99 (Save $15)
Let’s start with Amazon’s best streaming stick. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max, is selling for $34.99 (originally $59.99). It comes with a new 2.0 GHz quad-core processor, Dolby Vision support, DHR10+ support, 16GB storage, and more. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max has the most storage with 16GB, the best wifi support with Wi-Fi 6E, and the best voice assistant with Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced. At its current price, it’s cheaper than the more budget alternatives.
Fire TV Stick 4K Plus Prime Day Deal
Original price: $49.99 | Current price: $24.99 (Save $25)
Next in the pecking order is the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus. This is one works if you don’t need the 16GB of storage (it has 8GB), are okay with Wi-Fi 6 over Wi-Fi 6E, and don’t care about the Fire TV Ambient Experience, which transforms your TV into an Alexa-powered smart display. It still can handle 4K Ultra HD and supports the same premium Dolby audio and video as the 4K Max. You can get it for $24.99 (originally $49.99).
What do you think so far?
Fire TV Stick 4K Select Prime Day Deal
Original price: $39.99 | Current price: $17.99 (Save $22)
The Fire TV Stick 4K Select is a good budget pick: It’s currently $17.99 (originally $39.99) after a whooping 55% discount. With the Select, you give up on Live View Picture-In-Picture feature, which shows your camera’s live feed through Alexa on the TV screen, and Hands-Free with Alexa, which lets you play music, search for songs, or control playback through voice commands. You still get 4K, but only Wi-Fi 5, and no Dolby Atmos or Dolby Vision.
Fire TV Stick HD Prime Day Deal
Original price: $34.99 | Current price: $15.99 (Save $19)
If you’re looking for the absolute cheapest option, the Fire TV Stick HD is it. It’s selling for $15.99 (originally $34.99). But for $2 more, it’s worth getting the Select, which supports 4K (this one maxes out at 1080p).
