Hi, I’m Matthew Schneier. I’ve been New York Magazine’s chief restaurant critic for nearly three years, and if there’s a question I get asked most often in the line of duty, it’s the obvious one: “Where should I eat?” I like to think I’ve provided plenty of answers to that — here are my favorite 43 restaurants in New York, here’s where you can find all my latest reviews, and here is my Instagram if you want to keep up in real time — but in a city where new restaurants open daily, it’s a reasonable evergreen. Still, it’s not the only thing worth knowing.
