Anime Squadron isn’t even properly out yet, and there’s already a super special exclusive secret unit to unlock. So if you’re in Early Access, or maybe reading this sometime in the future. (Hello, post-release players!) Then we made this guide on how to get Gogeta in Anime Squadron. (Gometa to his friends, and to any copyright lawyers nearby.)
How To Get Gogeta In Anime Squadron
Okay, first order of business is clarifying the name thing, then we’ll talk about how to get the unit.
How To Unlock Gogeta/Gometa
If you haven’t worked this out by now, Gometa is the in-game name for the Gogeta unit, definitely for reasons of trying to avoid a DMCA. We’ll probably use Gometa in the guide portion, just so it’s not too confusing to follow along and find the unit in question.
To unlock Gometa you need to complete the Special Quest called Primal Fusion. (When we checked it was the only Special Quest available.) The whole quest and its prep is kind of a big ask though, so we’ll run over both the quest and the prep beforehand.
- Get at least one Goki (aka Goku) unit.
- Get at least one Vegata (aka Vegeta) unit.
- Awaken (evolve) Goki to Goki SSJ4 Full Power. For this you’ll need the following:
- 3 Eclipse Godstone
- 100 Zenkai Ore
- 20 Limitbreak Obsidian
- 5,000 Gold
- 1 Power Pole
- 200 Senzu
- Awaken (evolve) Vegata to Vegata SSJ4 Full Power, too.
- Complete 500 waves in Infinite Mode.
- Complete 100 Raid stages.
- Complete GT City Raid Act 4 20 times.
- Once you’ve completed all this, you should get an item called the Primal Core.
- Once you have the Primal Core, you can evolve Goki SSJ4 Full Power into Gometa with the following components.
- 10 Eclipse Godstone
- 10 Chakra Fragment
- 5,000 Gold
- 10 King’s Haki Residue
- 1 Primal Core
Is It Worth It?
There’s a bit of a grind in unlocking Gometa, but for the first secret unit in the game, we’d say it’s worth a try. A lot of the quest objectives are things you will be doing anyway as part of playing the game. (You should be Awakening your units whenever you can.) Most of the items you need show up in Story Mode and aren’t locked away in somewhere super obscure or late game, so if you’re playing the game at launch, there’s not a lot of reason not to try to unlock Gometa.
FAQ
Here’s anything else we thought might be useful to know.
- Is Anime Squadron out yet?
- At the time of writing the guide, Anime Squadron was due to release on Saturday the 13th of June. The Early Access was up and running though, free to anyone who spent 12 hours in the pre-release AFK Mode. With that in mind, most of our info comes from the Early Access build, so we’ll be checking for changes when the public release drops this weekend.
- Where is the Awakening NPC?
- You can find the Awakening NPC (they’re labelled that) in a building in the lobby alongside the crafting, stats, and trait rerolls NPCs. Talk to them to hand over items to Awaken (or evolve) your units if they happen to have a second form available.
- How do I get more summons?
- If you’re short on Gems, you might want to take a look at out Anime Squadron codes guide. We’ve not only got the codes, but we’ve also gone into a lot of detail on other easy ways to make Gems…and Gold… and rerolls. The list goes on.
