Midea has just launched its Easy-Lift Dishwasher in Australia with a bottom tray that lifts up to 25cm at the touch of a button, supporting loads of up to 18kg. It’s a practical solution for anyone who’s ever strained their back loading dinner plates or struggled to reach down into a dishwasher cavity.
The Easy-Lift functionality addresses a real need across Australian households. With four million Australians living with some form of back pain and nearly seven in ten preferring to age in place at home, the ability to bring a fully loaded dishwasher tray up to waist height removes a daily source of discomfort. For busy parents juggling kids and groceries, or anyone with chronic mobility issues, it’s the kind of feature that makes a tangible difference to daily kitchen routines.
Beyond the lift mechanism, Midea has packed in solid environmental credentials with a 5.5-star water rating and 4.5-star energy rating. The Dual Zone Wash feature lets you run just the upper or lower basket independently, which cuts down water and energy use when you’re dealing with smaller loads. There’s also an Auto Wash sensor that detects how dirty your dishes are and adjusts the cycle accordingly, so you’re not wasting resources on an unnecessarily intense wash.
Space has been maximised through Midea’s Spacemaster Design, which adds up to 46mm of additional internal height compared to conventional 60cm dishwashers. That translates to roughly 9% more capacity, giving you room for taller wine glasses, serving platters, and oversized cookware without the usual Tetris-style rearranging.
The hygiene features are comprehensive. Ion Dishfresh technology releases negatively charged ions to eliminate up to 99.8% of pollutants, creating an antibacterial environment inside the machine. Meanwhile, the HygieneCare+, IntensiveCare+, and MachineCare+ programs tackle 99.8% of viruses including COVID, HSV-1, Norovirus, and Rhinovirus. These features reduce reliance on harsh chemical detergents while maintaining thorough sanitation.
Once the wash cycle finishes, ActiveOpen Dry automatically opens the dishwasher door to release steam and allow cool air to circulate. It’s an energy-efficient approach to drying that works well in practice, particularly for plastic containers that typically retain moisture.
The Midea Easy-Lift Dishwasher is available now at Bing Lee stores across Australia with a recommended retail price of A$1,269. For households looking at long-term kitchen upgrades—particularly those with accessibility requirements or sustainability priorities—this model offers a thoughtful combination of practical features and modern dishwasher technology.
