The upcoming store closures include Quiz locations in Merry Hill, Sheffield, Derby, Newtownabbey, Stirling, Portsmouth, Castleford, Leicester, Hull and Livingston, as administrators from Interpath Advisory finalise their winding down process.
Quiz operated 40 standalone stores across the UK before falling into administration on 5 February. It had shuttered three stores by 21 May when it confirmed a “phased closure plan” to shutter all fascias by the end of June.
Drapers revealed a raft of store closures on 10 June including Aberdeen, Inverness, Warrington, Basingstoke, Bracknell and Dunfermline.
In the last week, Quiz stores in Warrington, Basingstoke, Hanley, Mansfield, Eastbourne, Telford, Carlisle, Watford, Clydebank and Irvine have also permanently shuttered.
Interpath confirmed today that the remaining 20 stores will at latest close by the end of trade on Saturday 20 June.
Alistair McAlinden, head of Interpath in Scotland and joint administrator, told Drapers: “As the Quiz stores close their doors for the final time, we would like to thank every member of staff for their commitment over the past five months.
“In exceptionally challenging circumstances, their professionalism ensured the business could continue to trade effectively. We are extremely grateful for their efforts and wish them all the best for the future,” he added.
Heavy discounting continues across the estate, with stores reporting reductions of between 70% and 80% and many items priced below £10 as stock is cleared.
