Charles Tyrwhitt promotes COO to MD

Howat has worked at the men’s formalwear brand for more than 12 years, starting out as head of merchandising in September 2013, and moving into roles such as global supply chain and merchandising director, and chief merchandise and logistics officer, her LinkedIn profile shows.

Luke Kingsnorth, who was recently promoted to group chief executive of Bectin, the owner of Charles Tyrwhitt and the White Company, said Howat “knows Charles Tyrwhitt inside out, brings huge commercial and operational experience, and has a real understanding of what it takes to lead the business”, The Times reported.

Kingsnorth has been chief operating officer since 2020 and, as part of the leadership restructuring Charles Tyrwhitt renamed the chief executive title held by Kingsnorth to managing director.
